Guide for selecting your jacket/coat size
- The conventional way to determine the size of your jacket is to measure around your chest in the normal manner, then refer to the chart to select your jacket size.
- However, if you are unable to measure accurately around your chest, a more practical (and simple) method is to measure a jacket you already wear and feel comfortable in.
- Lay the jacket on a flat surface and measure from armpit to armpit - this must be straight across.
- Then multiply the measurement by 2 and deduct 15 cms (6") and you should have the chest measurement for that jacket and therefore for any jacket that should fit you.
- Example: I measure 63.5 cms (25") from armpit to armpit of my jacket. I then multiply by 2 which gives me 127 cms (50"); I take away 15 cms (6") and that gives me jacket chest size of 112 cms (44").
